One Euro. Big impact.
Species conservation is one of the key challenges of our time. Around 150 animal and plant species disappear worldwide every day. Protecting endangered species is therefore more important than ever. For us, this commitment does not end at the zoo’s gates: equally important is our support for local projects around the world that ensure the survival of animals in their natural habitats.
A key component of this mission is the Species Conservation contribution. A voluntary contribution of 1 euro is collected per ticket purchased, which can of course be declined. 100 per cent of the proceeds go directly towards Hellabrunn’s species conservation work. In this way, we support projects worldwide aimed at protecting endangered animal species, preserving valuable habitats, breeding and reintroduction programmes, as well as on-site education and awareness-raising work.
Even a small contribution helps to preserve biodiversity and effectively protect animals in their natural habitats.
Thanks to your contribution, Hellabrunn Zoo can support the following projects on the ground:
- Conservation of the Ecuadorian colombian spider monkey in the Canandé Reserve in Ecuador
- Conservation of the drill in Nigeria and Cameroon
- Conservation and reintroduction in Bukit Tiga Puluh National Park
- Basic research and networking for the protection of the Pallas` cat (PICA)
- Community-based conservation of the red panda and its habitat in Nepal
