Bali starling

With its dazzling white plumage and bright blue eye rings, the Balistar is one of the most striking birds in South-East Asia – and, sadly, a sought-after status symbol. Its melodious song makes it a star of songbird competitions in Indonesia. After
the population had almost become extinct in its natural habitat, more than 400 Balistars now live in the wild again thanks to intensive conservation and breeding efforts by zoos.
