With a wingspan of up to 1.7 metres, the Large flying-fox is one of the largest bats in the world. During the day, they like to hang upside down in large groups in the treetops. As dusk falls, they set off in search of food, covering vast distances. Some individuals fly more than 50 kilometres in a single night.
