Hellabrunn Zoo has two service centers, one at each entrance of the zoo. Here you can receive general information about the zoo, visitor experiences, gift vouchers, annual passes and animal sponsorships. Our service team will be happy to assist you. We are open seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Summer: 10 am - 6 pm*
Winter: 10 am - 5 pm*
Please note that our two service centers do not open before 10:00 am and close at 5:00 pm in winter and at 6:00 pm in summer.
*The change in seasonal opening hours usually occurs after the weekend the clocks change.
**The Flamingo Service Center is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays except during Bavarian school and public holidays.

Tickets and annual passes
Single day tickets and annual pass vouchers can easily be purchased online from the comfort of your home.
Single day tickets purchased in advance in our online shop are not tied to a specific date. You will receive a voucher in PDF format via email, which you can either print out or show on your smartphone.

You can use our order form to purchase single day tickets and annual pass vouchers in advance. These will be sent to your address by post upon receipt of payment, which may take a few working days. The minimum order value is €30.00.
Our advance tickets with barcodes and annual pass vouchers are valid for three years after purchase until the end of the calendar year.
The large family day ticket for €39.00 includes both parents and their children or children aged 4 to 14 registered at the same postal address. The small family ticket for €22.00 includes one parent and their children or children aged 4 to 14 years registered at the same postal address.
- Our annual passes are non-transferrable
- Our annual passes are valid for 365 days from the date of issue.
- You can purchase different types of annual pass vouchers at the ticket office or online at www.hellabrunn.de/gutscheine.
Our annual passes:
- Child annual pass: for children aged 4 to 14. Price €30.
- Adult annual pass: for persons aged 15 and over. Price €59.
- Concession annual pass: for students, pupils, seniors, severely disabled (up to 90% disability with ID) and holders of a valid Munich City Pass (proof of eligibility must be presented in original form). Price €49.
- Small family annual pass: includes only one parent and their children or those registered at the same household from 4 to 14 years old. Price €59.00.
- Large family annual pass: includes both parents and their children or those registered at the same household between the ages of 4 and 14. Price €118.00.

With your annual pass you get a 10% discount in the gastronomy managed by Marché International, that is specifically in the Pizzaria & Café Flamingo, in the zoo restaurant, in the village store and in the beer garden im Mühlendorf. In addition, you can use the annual pass for admission at zoo experiences.
We can replace your lost annual pass. However, we do charge a processing fee for each replacement pass, which corresponds to the respective single day ticket price. On your next visit, simply let a member of staff at the ticket office know that you would like a replacement pass issued because you lost your original annual pass. Your request will then be processed in one of our two service centers, where you will be issued a replacement for the remainder of the term. A copy of the annual pass application would be helpful so that we can call up your data. If you can no longer present this, please bring an official photo ID with you (identity card, passport).
Our annual passes are personal to the holder shown on the pass photo and are therefore non-transferrable. Each family member receives their own personalised annual pass with photo. This allows children free admission upon presentation of their annual pass even if they do not come with their parents, but instead with other accompanying persons such as grandparents, other relatives or friends, or with their school class or kindergarten.
Visiting the zoo
Your dog is welcome to accompany you - on a short lead! Dogs are allowed in Hellabrunn Zoo. However, as there are many animals in the zoo that are only separated from the visitor path by a small moat, dog owners are required to keep their pets under control in a disciplined manner at all times. To ensure that dogs can continue to be allowed to enter the zoo in future, we urge you to observe the following zoo rules:
- A maximum of one dog per person is allowed in the zoo.
- Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the animal houses - not even when carried in the owner’s arm or transported in any other way. They must also not be left unattended in front of the animal houses or tethered in any other area within the zoo. Exceptions apply for registered assistance and guide dogs with the appropriate proof of certification and where the use of a dog harness makes it obvious that the dog is a service animal. Guide dogs must be kept on a short harness in front of the visitor at all times.
- Since visiting the zoo presents a special challenge for each individual dog, dog owner groups (e.g. dog schools) are strictly prohibited from entering the zoo.
- Dog owners must clean up after their dog using a bag and dispose of the waste in a dog waste bin.
- No other pets, such as cats, are allowed to be brought into the zoo.
If you are visiting the zoo with small children or have heavy bags, renting a handcart offers a fun and easy way to get around. You can book a wagon at our ticket office for €5.00 per day. A valid photo ID must also be left at the counter as a deposit. Please note that handcart rental is subject to availability; it is not possible to reserve a handcart in advance.
In order to get your deposit back, the handcart must be returned fifteen minutes before the ticket office closes at the same entrance where you borrowed it. It will not be possible to return your deposit after the zoo or ticket office has closed, as our ticket offices will then no longer be manned!
There are two car parks available at the zoo.
- P1 car park is located near the Isar entrance. This car park has its own parking fee system and is operated by the Bavarian Red Cross.
- P2 car park is on Siebenbrunner Straße. This is located by the Flamingo entrance and is managed by Hellabrunn Zoo. The parking fee is €6.00 per day.
- Both car parks have designated disabled parking spaces.
In the interest of the environment, we recommend travelling by public transport. We particularly recommend visitors use public transport on the weekends, public holidays and during Bavarian school holidays, due to the limited number of parking space at the zoo.
Many U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations in Munich have Park & Ride car parks, where you can park your vehicle at a reasonable price and then use public transport to get to the zoo.

Hellabrunn Zoo offers all visitors free entry on their birthday. A valid photo ID must be presented at the ticket office at one of the entrances.
We do not have lockers or similar storage facilities at the zoo. If you are arriving from Hauptahnhof (Munich Central Station) or Ostbahnhof (East Station), you can use the lockers available there. Alternatively, depending on availability, you can rent a pull-along wagon from one of the ticket offices to make it easier to get around with your luggage.

If you need first aid, contact a zoo employee nearby or in one of the service centers. You can also contact a member of staff working in a food concession.
On weekends, public holidays and during the Bavarian school holidays, there may be an emergency worker that provides first aid at the zoo.
Photography and filming for private use are permitted free of charge. A fee applies for commercial purposes. The prior written consent of the management must be obtained for the latter. You can find more information here.

You can find the locations of our toilet facilities on the zoo map. It is prohibited for any visitor, including children, to relieve themselves in any area of the zoo other than the toilets.
Bicycles, scooters, kickboards, roller skates, inline skates, skateboards, skating skis, Segways, e-scooters, motor vehicles and the like are prohibited for your own safety. Likewise, it is prohibited to play with balls, frisbees or balloons. Please do not bring such items into the zoo.
Only balance bikes (without pedals) for toddlers are allowed.
You can find baby changing facilities in the toilets at the Isar entrance, the Flamingo entrance, in the Zoo Restaurant, the Jungle World and in the Mühlendorf beer garden. (Zoo map)
Accessibility
Visitors with restricted mobility can borrow an electric mobility scooter from the zoo free of charge. To access this service, the hirer only has to be of legal age and present an ID for identification, which shows the hirer’s name, age and address. This service is provided by the Department for Labour and Economic Development together with the sponsor Anderwerk - in close cooperation with Hellabrunn Zoo and the city’s Advisory Board for the Disabled.
Hellabrunn Zoo is worth a visit for people with disabilities. The zoo is designed to be barrier-free, to the extent possible, from paths and toilets that are accessible to everyone, to step-free restaurants and cafés. The zoo also offers special services for disabled visitors.

We only transfer our animals to other zoological institutions. This is done on the basis of a cooperation agreement for the breeding of specific species, which allows the movement of animals between zoos. Selling to private individuals is not possible, because we do not want to be involved in animal trade.
We are also unable to accept animals from private individuals due to quarantine regulations. You are welcome to contact the Reptilienauffangstation (Reptile Sanctuary) in Munich. Perhaps there is a chance of finding a new home there.

Due to the Veterinary Office’s health and safety regulations and to protect our animals, it is no longer possible to bring feed of any kind to the zoo. Furthermore, the zoo has created a special diet plan for each animal species, which cannot integrate feed brought into the zoo from outside.
We also do not accept Christmas trees from private individuals, as we receive unsold trees directly from trusted wholesalers shortly after Christmas and are therefore usually well supplied.
Barrierefreiheit
Für Besucher mit einer Mobilitätseinschränkung gibt es im Tierpark die Möglichkeit, ein Elektromobil kostenfrei auszuleihen. Dazu muss die betreffende Person lediglich volljährig sein und zur Identifikation einen Ausweis vorzeigen, aus dem Ihr Name, Ihr Alter und die Adresse hervorgehen. Dieses Angebot wird vom Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft gemeinsam mit dem Träger Anderwerk umgesetzt - in enger Abstimmung mit dem Münchner Tierpark Hellabrunn und dem städtischen Behindertenbeirat.
