Conservation Center at Hellabrunn Zoo

Hellabrunn Zoo is an educational and nature conservation institution. Its aim is to inform and educate visitors about biodiversity and raise awareness of nature and wildlife conservation.

The Conservation Center provides an important forum for sharing knowledge and fostering discussion. Visitors to the zoo have an opportunity to learn about a wide range of conservation projects, as well as the importance of biological diversity and the role of zoos in international wildlife conservation through a permanent exhibition and a series of special exhibitions and lectures.

The permanent exhibition entitled “Biodiversity: Nature's Diversity under Threat” focuses on the UN Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020 and puts this important topic in the spotlight. The exhibition also marks a new direction for Hellabrunn Zoo as a Geozoo with an emphasis on biodiversity.
