Once again, Hellabrunn Zoo is delighted to announce the birth of newly born twins. This time we have two sets! Born to proud parents from our ring-tailed lemurs and red ruffed lemurs, the two sets of twins will see the monkey enclosure gain some of the popularity currently enjoyed by the polar bear cubs Nela and Nobby.
For the past two weeks, the adorable little cubs have been romping around the tundra landscape at Hellabrunn Zoo. The four-month-old polar bears have now finally been given names. They are called Nela and Nobby.
Ready for adventure: 14-week-old polar bear twins take their first steps outside of the birthing den and experience a new world, under the watchful eye of mama Giovanna.
International Polar Bear Day at Hellabrun Zoo was a great success. The now worldfamous twin cubs attracted many visitors and generated great interest in the fate of their fellow species in the wild. Starting this week, visitors will be able to gain an exclusive peek inside the home of the young polar bear family every weekend and bank holiday.
The polar bear cubs have passed their first medical examination with flying colours. The vets have now confirmed the twins are in the best of health.
