GEOGRAPHIC RANGE

World class Divers

Sea lions are perfectly adapted to life in the water. They can effortlessly dive to depths of up to 170 metres by closing their nostrils to make themselves watertight.

Always Follow Your Nose

Sea lions have whiskers on their snouts which they use to sense their prey whilst hunting - these sensory hairs allow them to discern movement in the water at distances up to 40 metres away. This works even in the dark.

Varied Diet

Sea lions mostly eat fish, but they do also eat crabs, squid and even the young of other species of seal.
